Ottawa FIRE 2020

CFBT US Chief Instructor Ed Hartin will present on Fire Behavior Case Studies: Use of the Case Method for Fire Behavior Training. Many firefighters reading a National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) Death in the Line of Duty report or similar investigative document simply review the investigation report and recommendations made by the NIOSH staff. While these reports can serve as an excellent learning tool as written, using the case method to take a deeper look at incident information contained in the report and available from other sources expands this learning opportunity. Two case studies will be used to illustrate how this approach can be used in development of firefighters knowledge of practical fire dynamics. For more information visit the Symposium Web Site
